ABOUT RACHEL BLACK

I'm Rachel (or “RL” for Rochel Leah;), the designer behind Chai and Beyond.

I've spent over 15 years designing for Jewish nonprofits. Galas, campaigns, annual events, capital projects, the works. It's the work that keeps finding me, and honestly, I keep loving it.

I handle the full visual experience. Invitations, signage, decor direction, donor communications, the details that make people feel like insiders before they even walk through the door. On-brand, but never boring. Consistent, but never stale.

When you work with me, you're working with me. No hand-offs, no in-betweens, no "I'll check with my team and get back to you." I have a network of trusted collaborators if a project needs extra hands, but you'll always be dealing directly with the person doing the thinking and the designing. That's the whole point.

I also bring deep expertise in AI-generated imagery. Not as a gimmick, but as a real tool for creating polished, on-brand visuals faster and smarter. I've trained design teams, guest lectured, and spent years figuring out how to make these tools actually useful for professional work. It's baked into how I operate now.

I care about the details that most people don't notice until they're missing. The invitation that feels worth keeping. The signage that makes the room feel intentional. The visuals that give your donors a reason to talk about your event afterward.

If you're planning something that matters, I'd love to hear about it.
